Who We Are
The Bay Area IAF is a broad based network of local institutions - congregations, synagogues, non-profits and civic associations - that serve as a foundation for public relationships, leadership development and action around issues that affect our communities. The Bay Area IAF is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), the nation's oldest and largest leadership development and organizing network. The IAF bases its work on the idea that a healthy democracy requires the active participation of ordinary people.
There are three projects of the Bay Area IAF - the Bay Area Organizing Committee (BAOC) in San Francisco County; the Marin Organizing Committee (MOC) in Marin County; and, the North Bay Sponsoring Committee (NBSC) in Sonoma and Napa counties as well as nascent projects in the East Bay.
